Sacred Woods is a combination of red cedar wood harvested from my family's ancestral cemetery in rural Tennessee, locally harvested white cedar leaf, and sandalwood chips steeped in olive oil and infused with beeswax to create a balm.

The Cedar tree is surrounded by lore going back to the beginning of time as a sacred tree. Cedar has been named the Tree of Life in Norse and Celtic folklore, is considered by Indigenous North Americans as one of the four sacred medicines, and has deep connections with the Greek Goddess Persephone. The Egyptians used its wood to build the doors of their temples. King Solomon used Cedar in the building of the temple in Jerusalem. A truly majestic tree, cedar has expressed great spiritual power for centuries.

Sandalwood has been used for thousands of years in a ritual context throughout Asia, the Middle East, and India. Sandalwood is commonly used in home and temple around the world to direct one’s attention toward the divine realm. Sandalwood is believed to be the most pleasing and sacred scent to the gods.
