I release within me what needs to die, including ghosts of my past self.
I leave behind everything I have outgrown in.
I embrace the darkness of a new path.
I turn my energy inward to find the light.
I nurture myself and honor my need for rest.
I care for myself in ways greater than before.
I allow myself to evolve and transform.
I weave magic and create abundance.
I am worth it.
I have to work hard the past week to begin to climb out of my anger and rage and feelings of hopelessness, constantly reminding myself that I cannot and will not live in a state of fear and hate. I will not "other" the "others." That is not who I am, I find value knowing that loving compassion is stronger than my despair. My imagination has been running wild with uncertain possibilities that make me feel ungrounded, nervous, unworthy, powerless, and weak. And I’ve been rooted there as my mind runs through every “what’s next” scenario I could possibly think of. I allowed myself to unravel last week, and honestly it felt great. But by last weekend I was like okay, enough of that, we aren't setting up camp in this space. I cut out all news and talk of the world this weekend, enforcing a ban of even discussing last weeks events unless absolutely necessary, because honestly, what more was there to say? I did yard work, ran errands, enjoyed a lunch date with multiple cocktails, and lit a bonfire Saturday and Sunday - a bit of practical magic to let everything I was feeling burn through without having to verbally express it anymore. I invited others over and we shared in drink and food and fire, and I had a lot of fun. Being in community can bring you back like that and remind you that our tiny little lives can be so perfect sometimes. In times of turmoil, when we are in joy we may feel a shadow of hesitation, fearing it’s fleeting or feeling guilt in receiving happiness when others suffer. But this duality is yet another pendulum swing. We are deserving of joy not because of what we do but simply because we exist. The natural world offers us abundance, beauty, and moments of grace; it invites us to receive without guilt or fear. Suffering is a shared experience, but it does not negate our worthiness of goodness and love. The key is to honor our joy, accept our worthiness - be secure in it, and trust that when suffering does arrive, you are not alone, and it too will eventually pass.
As the Taurus Full Moon arrives on November 15, 2024, it draws us into the rich, grounding energy of Taurus, a sign deeply in tune with the Earth, sensual pleasures, and the slower, steady rhythms of life. Taurus energy is stable and secure, rooted in our values. In a season that often asks us to look inward, the Taurus Full Moon is here as a reminder to pause and savor life, to anchor ourselves in what feels nurturing and safe. Taurus, ruled by Venus, resonates with themes of beauty, love, value, and stability—qualities that can help us feel both rooted and resilient in uncertain times.
Under this full moon, there's a call to reconnect with what makes us feel genuinely fulfilled, with our feet firmly planted in our values and what we hold dear. When we know what we value, we know what to fight for, and what to live for.
Taurus encourages us to enjoy the tangible, sensory experiences—touch, taste, and comfort. This is the time to create a warm and grounding space around us, to engage in activities that bring us back to the body and help us feel present. Taurus energy reminds us that we don’t need to be in a hurry; life’s gifts unfold when we allow ourselves to slow down and notice them.
Under this Full Moon, consider balancing your desires for stability and change. Acknowledge the parts of your life that need grounding and those that may be ready for a shake-up. This energy supports setting boundaries around what nurtures your peace while also daring to step into the unknown where necessary. The Taurus Full Moon, with its blend of grounding earth energy and transformative, unexpected influences, offers a powerful moment to realign with what truly matters while staying open to life’s natural ebb and flow. Allow this moon to be a reminder that true stability comes from within and that embracing both change and groundedness is essential for authentic growth. Listening to the call to ground is potent and necessary. In grounding, we find resilience, a counterbalance to the turbulence of the world. Whether we walk barefoot on the earth, practice yoga, meditate, or sing and dance to root ourselves in the present, these acts of grounding are simple but profound. They remind us that despite the world’s chaos, we have the power to bring ourselves back to peace. Back to hope. Practical magic, such as grounding exercises and gratitude, doesn’t need to be elaborate; it’s the practice of showing up, rooting ourselves in the present moment, and honoring the energy we wish to embody.
As full moon rises, ground yourself in your life and be present. Acknowledge the darkness without fear and let it highlight the light within. Choose to love and live, to see the beauty in every moment while honoring the heaviness around us. We have the power to shift energy, to respond with compassion, gratitude, and practical magic in the face of suffering.
Let’s commit to the dance of polarity, to embracing both sides of the pendulum swing.
When faced with evil and darkness we can choose to love ourselves and our lives and the world even greater. We can see the polarity in the world and not be afraid. We can commit to forgiveness and gratitude, hold compassion and grief, and live our beautiful little lives. We can choose love and good and life and try to counterbalance all the hate we are seeing right now.
And if you are feeling anxious, spacey, overthinking, and not sleeping well, that is a normal nervous system response to all this. Those can be side effects of being ungrounded. Which is a side effect (and a natural reaction of self preservation) when the world seems HEAVY.
Consider how you can nurture a sense of abundance in your life.
What is it that you truly value?
What do you feel most connected to?
How can you create space for more stability, clarity, and gratitude within your life?
Light a candle, draw a warm bath, or wrap yourself in a cozy blanket.
Surround yourself with scents, textures, and colors that feel comforting.
Reflect on what in your life brings you a sense of security and how you can cultivate more of that feeling.
Let this be a time to settle into your own skin, feel your roots, and trust in your ability to create a life that aligns with your deepest values. The Taurus Full Moon is a reminder to cherish the beauty around us and within us. By anchoring ourselves in what is steady and meaningful, we open to greater peace and presence, even amidst life's inevitable changes.
Recognize the darkness, acknowledge it, and thank it. You don't have to stay in this state permanently.
Choose your reaction to hate and death by choosing love and life.
Choose practical magic, grieve compassionately for others, be grateful for this life and all its swings.
Get out there and lean in to the beauty while also acknowledging the darkness and the scary.
